Boost My Resume ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Boost My Resume, based in Delhi, India. We are the data controller for information collected directly through our website. For resume data processed through the Gemini API, Google also acts as a data processor.

3. How Your Resume is Processed by Gemini AI

The core function of this Service is AI-powered resume analysis. Here is exactly what happens to your resume:

• Step 1: You upload your resume file via our website.
• Step 2: We extract the text content from your file on our server.
• Step 3: The text is sent as a prompt to Google's Gemini API over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
• Step 4: Gemini returns a score and suggestions, which we display to you.

4. Google Analytics (Clickstream Data)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 collects anonymised behavioural data such as pages visited, features clicked, and general device information. It does not collect your resume content.

• We track events such as file uploads, score views, and button clicks using custom GA4 events.
• IP addresses are anonymised before being processed by Google Analytics.
• Analytics data is aggregated and does not personally identify individual users.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Where applicable data protection law requires a lawful basis for processing, we rely on:

• Consent — for analytics cookies and tracking, obtained via our cookie banner.
• Legitimate interests — for service improvement, security, and fraud prevention.

6. Data Retention

• Resume text: Deleted from our servers immediately after the Gemini API response is received.
• Uploaded files: Automatically deleted immediately of upload.
• Analytics data: Retained by Google Analytics as per our GA4 configuration.
• Server logs: Retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes, then deleted.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Google (Gemini API): Your resume text is sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf.
• Google (Analytics): Anonymised usage data is shared with Google Analytics for product analytics.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required to do so by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or others.
• Business transfer: If we are acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new entity, subject to the same privacy protections.

8. Cookies

11. Children's Privacy

This Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has submitted data to our Service, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. International Data Transfers

Google's Gemini API infrastructure may process your data in data centres outside your country of residence (including the United States). Google maintains data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses where required by law. By using this Service, you acknowledge that your resume data may be transferred internationally for AI processing.
